About the Role

Hanover Scotland are excited to be recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join our Strategic Finance team based in our Edinburgh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join at a time of growth and development within the organisation. 

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two to three days per week in our Edinburgh office.   

As Finance Business Partner you will:

  • Provide high quality analysis and insightful financial and management accounting service for our teams.
  • Support the achievement of Hanover’s wider business objectives and strategy.
  • Partner with multiple teams within the organisation, being the key contact for all financial matters and the expert in the financial performance of our teams.
  • Create and deliver high quality management information to assist the monitoring and analysis of budget positions, forecasted outturns and actual results.
  • Advise in the preparation of the annual budget, providing technical support to relevant budget holders.  Monitor the budget performance ensuring that departmental and organisational objectives are achieved.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts within areas of responsibility to allow for the creation of quality, effective and timely financial information.
  • Contributing to the year-end statutory accounts closure by providing clear and accurate financial information that meets current accounting standards and reconciles to the financial information held on the finance accounts system.
  • Maintain asset register, ensuring information held reconciles to the financial systems and statutory accounts.
  • Advise on annual charges at each development and coordinate the reporting to residents.
  • Train, coach and develop Directors, senior managers, non-finance managers and other employees to improve financial management skills across the organisation.
  • Assist with the continuous development, improvement, and analysis of the reporting framework within the finance team.

 

About You 

  • HNC in accounting or equivalent.
  • Strong partnership skills and ability to offer a value-added partnering service.
  • Strong experience of manual and electronic accounting systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the role of a Finance team.
  • Advanced understanding of the importance of financial management and control.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software packages.
  • Confident and able to manipulate and interrogate financial information.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with a methodical approach to reporting.
