About the Role

Our Very Sheltered Services are Development-based and provide enhanced provision to support adults with varying needs including physically disabled, learning disabilities, older adults and vulnerable adults in their own homes to live as independently as they are able with a responsive service adapting to their housing support plans.

About You 

Essential

  • Be able to be registered as a support worker in an adult social care service with SSSC within 6 months of beginning the role (see desirable SVQ2)
  • Awareness of person-centred care
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Basic UT skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good team working
  • Physical demand, physical fitness for moving and handling
  • Hours are flexible covering early and late shifts 365 days per year
  • Some travel may be required for training and to provide essential cover

 

Desirable

  • SVQ 2 or SVQ 3 in health and social care
  • Medication units in SVQ
  • REHIS elementary level
  • Demonstrable experience of working with people in a care environment
  • Awareness of dementia
